In our interview with one of our local NYS Assemblyman, Steven Stern. We listen and chat about how we can help those in need coming out of the military, as well as those who are getting older and in need of care.
Steve Stern, currently serving in his second term in the New York State Assembly and previously served in the 16th legislative district in the Suffolk County Legislature for 12 years. As well as was Chairman of the Veterans Committee in Suffolk County throughout his 6 terms. Now currently a member of the Veterans Affairs Committee in the New York State Assembly. Stern discusses how Suffolk County and New York State as a whole, need to implement more resources for veterans challenged by returning to society after their service.
Kelly Lanzon, Owner of Helping Hearts at Home shares how the company benefits struggling veterans in need of help. As well as sharing financial resources for veterans who can't afford care, such as VA Aid and Attendance Program.
Matt Lanzon, who served in the United States Marine Corps for five years discusses how transitioning to the civilian lifestyle as a veteran came with a series of challenges. Also sharing how developing condominiums or affordable housing communities specifically for veterans, could make a great impact on a veteran's quality of life.
